
Islamabad: 13 thousand 452 candidates have received nomination papers for local body elections in Islamabad.
According to Express News, in the case of local body elections in Islamabad, nomination papers are being received and submitted by various candidates, so far 13 thousand 452 candidates have received nomination papers.
356 candidates have submitted papers for the post of chairman and vice chairman, 268 nomination papers have been received by the District Returning Office for the Kisan seat. Nomination papers of 256 candidates were collected for youth seats.
Nomination papers of 95 candidates for minority seats, 417 for women seats and 1 thousand 508 candidates for general seats were collected. A total of 2900 nomination papers have been received by the District Returning Office.
According to the Election Commission, nomination papers can be submitted till August 28 for the municipal elections to be held on October 9.
