Batting first at the invitation of South Africa in the match played in Centurion, India scored 219 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
Tilak Verma was the standout for India with an unbeaten 107 off 56 balls. Abhishek Sharma scored 50, Hardik Pandya 18, Ramandeep Singh 15, Rinku Singh 8, captain Suryakumar Yadav 1 and Sanju Samson 0.
Axar Patel played an unbeaten 1 run innings.
For South Africa, Keshav Maharaj and Andile Simmlin took 2 wickets each while Marco Jensen took 1 wicket.
Chasing 220 runs, South Africa could only manage 208 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs.
Marco Jensen top-scored for the Proteas with a blistering 54 off 17 balls. Henrik Klaasen made 41, captain Aiden Markram 29, Reeza Hendricks 21, Ryan Rickelton 20, David Miller 18 and Tristan Stubbs 12.
Andile Simeone was not out for 5 and Gerald Coetzee was not out for 2.
For India, Arshdeep Singh took 3, Varun Jakrawarti took 2, while Axar Patel and Hardik Pandya took 1 wicket each.
