Karachi: The 74th meeting of the PCB Board of Governors was held in Faisalabad yesterday under the chairmanship of Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, the members proposed to include the Champions Cup in the Constitution 2014.
According to the PCB, the Board of Governors was briefed on the Champions ODI Cup, which began on Thursday afternoon with the opening match between the Markhors and the Panthers at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad. And appreciated Mohsin Naqvi’s efforts in attracting and convincing media organizations.
With the country’s best cricketers participating in the event, the Board of Governors also suggested that the Champions Cup be included in the PCB Constitution 2014, along with the T20 and four-day format events, thus making it part of the annual calendar. will become a part, it will bring continuity and consistency in the domestic cricket system.
The members said that in view of the great enthusiasm of the fans in Faisalabad, PCB should take full control of Iqbal Stadium, upgrade it to international standards and restore the venue, thus once again two One-way international series can be hosted.
An update was provided to the Board of Governors on the progress of the infrastructure projects on the design and scope of work, with members expressing their full support and satisfaction with the projects, saying that it is the need of the hour, once the projects are completed.
