The Islamabad High Court has granted permission for Imran Khan, the founder of PTI, to have private meetings with his lawyers.
During a recent hearing on petitions regarding privacy concerns and the right to confidential discussions, the court ordered the jail administration to facilitate these meetings in privacy, directing that no officials should be present during the discussions.
Additionally, lawyers were permitted to bring papers and pencils for their meetings with Imran Khan. Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan stated that a written order would be issued regarding this matter, emphasizing that all requests pertaining to meetings in the jail are being addressed and further requests need not be filed. Sher Afzal Marwat argued that two jail officers were present during lawyer meetings, and the jail administration was restricting meetings with new party members and newly elected officials. The court accepted the request to allow meetings with Imran Khan’s political aides and directed the jail administration to address such requests accordingly.
