The Islamabad High Court has sent a notification to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and the Ministry of Information in response to a petition filed regarding the shutdown of X (Twitter).
Chief Justice Amir Farooq presided over the hearing of a citizen’s plea concerning the closure of X. Chief Justice Amir Farooq asked whether X was indeed shut down.
The lawyer representing the petitioner responded affirmatively, stating that X has been inaccessible since February 17. The Sindh High Court is scheduled to convene today to address a contempt petition.
Following this, the court issued a notice and postponed further proceedings on the case until next week.
