The PTI has opted to contest the matter of specific seats in the Punjab Assembly at the Lahore High Court, as announced by Barrister Ali Zafar during a media address at the Islamabad High Court.
Zafar stated that a petition concerning this issue has been drafted, and their legal team intends to file it in the Lahore High Court today.
Furthermore, he mentioned plans to challenge the matter of Form 45 in the Supreme Court. Notably, a similar issue regarding specific seats was under consideration in the Peshawar High Court, with its ruling expected to have implications for both the Federal and KP Assembly. Barrister Ali Zafar highlighted that intra-party elections, conducted in compliance with Supreme Court directives, have been contested and await the Election Commission’s verdict.
Regarding cabinet appointments, Zafar emphasized that the decision rests with the chief minister and his inner circle. He also revealed that Sher Afzal Marwat’s nomination for the Public Accounts Committee membership was endorsed by PTI’s founder chairman, Imran Khan.
