Quetta: Balochistan’s Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti expressed optimism about Asif Ali Zardari’s potential re-election as President, citing potential majority support.
Speaking to the media at the Balochistan Assembly, Bugti emphasized the PPP’s intention to engage with all parties for the upcoming presidential elections, highlighting Zardari’s reputation for reconciliation and inclusive governance.
Bugti noted discussions with Maulana Fazlur Rehman and provincial leadership from Jamiat about potential support for Zardari’s candidacy. He mentioned that the formation of Balochistan’s cabinet would occur post-Senate by-elections, with PPP, PML-N, and their allies being consulted. A committee comprising members from PPP and PML-N would determine ministerial portfolios.
Responding to inquiries about hereditary politics, Bugti clarified that while he holds the position of Chief Minister, his father did not hold such a role.
