In Islamabad, Hassan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz, the sons of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Nawaz Sharif, have made an appearance before the accountability court. They are set to surrender in cases related to Al-Azizia, Flagship, and Avenfield references, with Judge Nasir Javed Rana presiding over the hearing for warrant cancellation petitions.
The perpetual warrants of Hasan and Hussain Nawaz have been temporarily suspended by the accountability court due to their prolonged absence since 2017, a decision made during this court session.
Speaking to the media, Hussain Nawaz highlighted the perceived political vendetta starting from October 12, recounting his own arrest from the Prime Minister’s House and subsequent months spent in prison. He also noted significant changes within the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). Responding to inquiries about ensuring Imran Khan’s right to a fair trial, Hussain emphasized the importance of transparency and fairness in legal proceedings for everyone.
