Today, the Martyrdom Day of Hazrat Ali Karamullah Rabiya is being observed with reverence and dedication nationwide, including in Karachi.
Funeral gatherings and mourning processions are scheduled to take place across the country. In Karachi, the Central Martyrdom Majlis of Hazrat Ali will convene at Nishtar Park on the 21st of Ramadan, commencing at midnight, organized by the Zameerul Hassan Trust. Allama Rehan Haider Rizvi will deliver a discourse during the Majlis following prayers and salutations. Subsequently, a procession featuring symbols of knowledge, coffins, and Zul-Janah will proceed, led by Butrab Scouts, with participants journeying from Mahfil Shah Khorasan to Exhibition Chowrangi.
A congregational Zahrin prayer will be held at 2:00 PM on MA Jinnah Road, opposite Bindu Khan Hotel, under the guidance of Maulana Muhammad Hussain Raisi. Following the afternoon prayers, a protest demonstration will be conducted by the Imamia Students Organization to express solidarity with oppressed Palestinian Muslims. The procession will then follow its traditional route through MA Jinnah Road, C Breeze, Sadar Dawakhana Mansfield Street, Regal Chowk, Priddy Street, MA Jinnah Road, Bolton Market, Bhatti Bazar, Kharadar, concluding at Hussainiya Iraniyan Imam Bargah in Kharadar.
Extensive security measures have been implemented across Karachi for the Yom Ali procession, with a significant deployment of personnel ensuring safety. Prior to the procession, thorough sweeps of the routes will be conducted by bomb disposal units. Additionally, CCTV surveillance and aerial monitoring will be employed, and expert snipers from security agencies will be stationed atop high-rise buildings. Seal-offs of the procession route and surrounding markets and streets have been enacted to enhance security further.
