In Lahore, Pervez Elahi’s bail has been granted in the Punjab Assembly illegal recruitment case.
As reported by News, the former Chief Minister of Punjab, Pervez Elahi, received significant relief from the Lahore High Court. Justice Sulthan Tanveer Ahmed approved Elahi’s bail application in the recruitment case related to the Punjab Assembly.
Pervez Elahi’s lawyer, Aamir Saeed Ran, argued that the anti-corruption agency had delayed filing the case by two years and asserted that Elahi did not receive any recruitment money from any candidates and was not involved in the recruitment process. Additionally, the lawyer claimed that the anti-corruption agency fabricated evidence found at Elahi’s residence.
The anti-corruption agency’s lawyer countered that the case against Pervez Elahi was filed in accordance with the law, noting that he was arrested on October 25, 2023.
After considering the arguments from both sides, the court decided to grant Pervez Elahi’s bail application.
