Beijing: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has expressed Pakistan’s desire to benefit from China’s development model.
During a meeting in Beijing with Chairman Lu Xiaohui of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), Prime Minister Sharif emphasized Pakistan’s interest in Chinese investment for the Railway Main Line 1 (ML 1) upgrade project.
Describing the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as a strong symbol of friendship between the two nations, the Prime Minister noted that the joint working group on socio-economic development under CPEC has achieved positive outcomes. Chairman CIDCA reaffirmed the commitment to deepen China-Pakistan cooperation across various sectors, highlighting the need to enhance bilateral partnerships in infrastructure development, climate change response, and human resource development. This includes ongoing projects under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the Global Development Initiative (GDI).
