Islamabad: Former Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar stated that time will reveal whether he is guilty of wheat theft or not.
Speaking at an event in Rawalpindi, Kakar highlighted that tax revenue collection is Pakistan’s most significant issue. He mentioned that his tenure was marked by numerous challenges in attempting to reform the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). Recently, he was accused of theft, and he remarked that only time will determine if he is indeed a thief.
Kakar emphasized that anyone among Pakistan’s 250 million people can accuse him, but they must also provide proof. He stated that if he has wronged even seven thousand souls, then their sins are his to bear; if not, then his sins are transferred to his accusers.
The former caretaker prime minister also expressed his respect for the judiciary, stating that he admires judges like Qazi Faiz Isa and Athar Minullah.
