LAHORE: Renowned Pakistani singer Ali Sethi will not perform the Pakitan Super League season 8 anthem, according to his father, Pakistan Cricket Board Management Committee Chair Najam Sethi. PCB officials were in talks with the company that produced Ali Sethi’s famous Pasoori song, and they planned to include the singer in the PSL anthem. However, at his father’s request, Sethi backed out of the project, citing a ‘conflict of interest’ and the potential for unwanted controversy. “This is a sensitive issue,” he said at a press conference called to announce the PSL8 schedule on Friday. “Take a look at my position” (in the board). Obviously, many people will object and claim that this is a conflict of interest.” “Therefore, there is no need for me to get involved in this controversy. There are numerous other gifted singers in the country.” “You can call him when I’m not in the PCB,” he joked. It is worth noting that the much-anticipated PSL season 8 anthem is still in the works and will be released soon. The mega-event will begin on February 13 in Multan, with defending champions Lahore Qalandars taking on Multan Sultans in the first match.
