ISLAMABAD: The federal government has imposed 15 percent tax on hotels, motels, guesthouses, farm houses, wedding halls, lawns, clubs and catering services within the limits of Islamabad.
Apart from this, in the budget of the new financial year, the service providers of restaurants, coffee shops, food, ice cream parlors, coffee houses, dera food, huts and prepared food supply within the limits of the federal capital will be given credit card, mobile wallet QR code.
A tax of 5% was levied on payments made through the bank while 15% was imposed on cash payments. In this regard, the FBR has proposed amendments to the Islamabad Limits (Tax on Services) Ordinance, 2001 through the Finance Bill 2023-24.
Apart from this, the tax rate on the provision of services of software and IT-based system development consultants has been reduced from 16% to 15%, while 15% tax has been applied on the provision of electric and transmission services.
