An appeal has been lodged in the Islamabad High Court against the conviction of the Chairman of PTI (Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf) in the Tosha Khana case.
The Chairman of PTI has personally filed an appeal in the Islamabad High Court, seeking to overturn the sentence issued in the Tosha Khana case. He has urged the court to declare the trial court’s decision as unlawful and nullify it. Additionally, he has requested the court to suspend the sentence while the central appeal is being considered and grant him bail.
The appeal faced initial objections from the registrar’s office but has now been officially numbered.
Chairman PTI’s legal representatives, Advocate Khawaja Haris, and Barrister Gauhar, submitted the appeal on his behalf.
After resolving the objections raised by the registrar’s office, the appeal has been assigned the number 273.
The Chairman has also requested that the appeal be scheduled for tomorrow.
However, the registrar’s office objected to the appeal, arguing that the concept of filing a suspension of sentence along with an appeal is not applicable under the Election Act.
