A session of the National Judicial Policy Making Committee convened, led by Chief Justice of Pakistan, Umar Atta Bandial. The gathering highlighted various significant matters, with a particular focus on addressing judicial vacancies.
According to reports from Express News, the committee meeting underscored the importance of training for investigating officers and prosecutors. Chief Justice Bandial stressed the importance of promptly submitting legal cases to the courts to expedite their resolution. The meeting witnessed participation from the Chief Justices of the four provincial high courts, alongside the Chief Justice of the Shariat Court. Additionally, Provincial Inspectors General and Provincial Advocate Generals were also in attendance.
During the session, Chief Justice Bandial expressed the judiciary’s unwavering commitment to ensuring swift dispensation of justice, while simultaneously discouraging baseless litigation and false claims. The implementation of alternative arbitration mechanisms was highlighted as a crucial step towards alleviating the mounting caseload burden on the courts.
Chief Justice Bandial urged the utilization of information technology by courts and judicial officers as a means to facilitate efficient delivery of justice. He recommended that Chief Justices of High Courts take advantage of training initiatives to enhance their effectiveness.
