In the city of Lahore, there has been a recent surge in the price of LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) in the global market, prompting local marketing companies to raise their rates by an additional 10 rupees per kilogram.
Irfan Khokhar, the Chairman of the LPG industry, explained that this increase stems from a rise of 92 dollars per metric ton in the international LPG price, causing the cost to elevate from 464 to 556 dollars per metric ton. As a result of this price adjustment, the cost of a household LPG cylinder has seen an uptick of 120 rupees, while a commercial cylinder’s price has surged by 450 rupees.
Khokhar emphasized that the price of LPG has undergone a substantial 20 rupee per kilogram escalation within merely two days. Consequently, the cost per kilogram has escalated from 210 to 220 rupees.
The Chairman of the LPG Association further conveyed that the retail price for a domestic cylinder has now been revised to 2615 rupees, formerly priced at 2495 rupees. Similarly, a commercial cylinder now carries a price tag of 10030 rupees, previously valued at 9580 rupees. In more elevated regions, LPG prices have climbed to 255 rupees per kilogram, with domestic cylinders now selling for 3015 rupees and commercial cylinders for 11600 rupees.
