In the third One Day International (ODI) of the ongoing series held in Colombo, the captain of the Pakistan national cricket team, Babar Azam, won the coin toss and opted to bat first.
With the match underway, Pakistan made several alterations to their playing XI. Saud Shakeel, Faheem Ashraf, Mohammad Nawaz, and Mohammad Wasim Jr. were granted the opportunity to play, while Iftikhar Ahmed, Osama Mir, Naseem Shah, and Haris Rauf were given a break.
In response to these developments, Hashmatullah Shahidi, the captain of the Afghan team, expressed his team’s intention to secure victory in the final match of the series and proceed to the upcoming Asia Cup.
The Pakistan squad for the match includes Captain Babar Azam, Imam-ul-Haq, Fakhar Zaman, Muhammad Rizwan, Agha Salman, Saud Shakeel, Shadab Khan, Muhammad Nawaz, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Muhammad Wasim Jr., and Faheem Ashraf.
Similarly, the Afghanistan squad features Captain Hashmatullah Shahidi, Rehmanullah Garbaz, Ibrahim Zadran, Riaz Hasan, Muhammad Nabi, Rashid Khan, Mujeebur Rehman, Fazalul Haq Farooqui, Shahid Kamal, Abdul Rehman, and Ikram Ali.
It’s worth noting that Pakistan currently holds a commanding 2-0 lead in the series. If the national team manages to secure a clean sweep in the series, they will ascend to the top spot in the world rankings.
