In the aftermath of a heated exchange between the Vice Chancellor of Dawood Engineering University and the student body, the student organization held a press conference, urging for the removal of the vice chancellor from their position.
A support camp established by the student organization outside the University of Karachi became a focal point of tension. Samreen Hussain, due to the presence of the university logo on the camp, engaged in a confrontational interaction where she tore the materials, a video of which gained traction on social media. Consequently, the student body convened a press conference at the press club. During this gathering, Waqas Rafiq, the moderator of the Professional Zone of Islamic Jamiat Talaba, commended the officials of Dawood University for respecting the teacher’s sanctity. The students made a collective appeal to the Sindh Chief Minister to remove the Vice Chancellor of Dawood University.
Meanwhile, Dawood Engineering University conducted an entrance test utilizing the services of the IBA Testing Service Karachi as a third-party entity. Both institutions collaborated to ensure the convenience and guidance of the students, with comprehensive arrangements in place.
As reported by the administration of Dawood University of Engineering and Technology, all candidates were provided with necessary information along with their admit cards. Help desks were also established at the examination centers, specifically designated to offer assistance and information. No external third-party or political organization was authorized to establish any admission-related desk.
Responding to the student organization’s press conference, the university administration clarified that the student group had established a guidance desk outside the examination center without the university’s knowledge. Additionally, they unlawfully used the Dawood University logo alongside political flags. The materials presented were primarily political pamphlets, and not genuine guidance materials.
Vice Chancellor of Dawood Engineering University, Prof. Dr. Samreen Hussain, highlighted that the university’s administration had pointed out the misuse of the university logo to the political workers involved, leading to their subsequent action of concealing the logo.
