In response to inflation, there are ongoing preparations to raise petrol prices once again in Islamabad.
This adjustment is anticipated due to the devaluation of the rupee, and it’s projected that petroleum product prices will see an increase starting from September 1.
As reported by Express News, there’s a likelihood of petrol prices rising by Rs 10 per liter, with high-speed diesel potentially experiencing an increase of Rs 15 per liter.
Insider sources suggest that the Ministry of Finance, in collaboration with the Caretaker Prime Minister, will ultimately approve this price surge. The proposed increase in petroleum product prices is expected to cover the next 15 days.
It’s being proposed to raise the petroleum levy on diesel by two rupees, while the levies on kerosene and petrol are intended to remain unchanged, based on the sources.
