Imran Mazari, an advocate, has been granted post-arrest bail in a case related to terrorist financing in Islamabad. The Anti-Terrorism Court accepted the bail application, requiring a bond of Rs. 10,000.
Present at the hearing were Iman Mazari’s mother, Shireen Mazari, as well as lawyers Zainab Janjua and Qaiser Imam, before Judge Abul Hasnat Muhammad Zulqarnain.
Initially, the court had set the bond at Rs. 20,000, but it was later reduced to Rs. 10,000 upon the lawyers’ request. Iman Mazari had been ordered into judicial remand during a prior hearing, prompting the filing of a post-arrest bail application.
Furthermore, the court directed that Iman Mazari be held at the Women’s Police Station in Islamabad instead of Adiala Jail. A written order was issued, preventing Iman Mazari’s arrest in any case.
In a separate development, the Islamabad High Court issued an order prohibiting Iman Mazari’s arrest in any case. The order noted that, according to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) operations, there are three cases against Iman Mazari in Islamabad. Currently, Iman Mazari is out on bail in two of these cases. The petitioner’s mother expressed concerns about the possibility of arrest in the third case, prompting the court to instruct the Interior Secretary, IG Islamabad, and DGFI to refrain from arresting Iman Mazari or assisting in any arrest on behalf of other provinces.
The court also ordered that all parties ensure Iman Mazari remains within the confines of Islamabad and instructed that information regarding the cases against Interior Secretary Iman Mazari be conveyed to the provinces by Monday.
