In Lahore, the police have requested asset details from relevant institutions in order to seize properties belonging to PTI (Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf) leaders who have been implicated in the acts of arson, vandalism, and violence that occurred on May 9.
As reported by Express News, the DIG Investigation has dispatched a letter to the Commissioner of Lahore, the Governor of the State Bank, and the Chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). This letter seeks comprehensive information about the properties owned by PTI leaders, and court authorization has been obtained to confiscate the assets of 22 PTI leaders.
The content of the letter specifies that the particulars of properties recently acquired and occupied by PTI leaders involved in the advertising of the party will be pursued under Section 87 of the CrPC (Criminal Procedure Code) for the purpose of property seizure and the freezing of accused individuals’ bank accounts.
According to insider sources within the police, the list of these implicated leaders encompasses individuals such as Halima Khan, who is the sister of PTI’s Chairman, along with Uzmi Khan, Mian Aslam Iqbal, Hammad Azhar, Farrukh Habib, Zubair Niazi, Imtiaz Sheikh, Hafiz Farhat, Andalib Abbas, Ahmed Khan Niazi, Khalid Gujjar, Karamat Ali Khokhar, and several others. All of these accused individuals have been found to be connected to the events that unfolded on May 9 and have been officially identified as such by the investigation team.
