Lahore: Siraj-ul-Haq, the leader of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, has called for a transparent investigation into those responsible for costly Independent Power Producer (IPP) contracts.
According to an official statement from the Central Department of Broadcasting, Siraj-ul-Haq emphasized the need for holding those behind the expensive IPP contracts accountable. He expressed concern about the economic downturn and deteriorating law and order in the last five years, which has led to a surge in inflation.
He pointed out that during this period, institutions were weakened, laws were disregarded, and electricity bills became an unbearable burden for the public. Additionally, he highlighted that China surpassed a significant economic milestone in the country’s history.
Siraj-ul-Haq underscored that the nation is unwilling to endure further hardships, and he stressed that the current debt-driven economy and usury system are hindering progress. He called for immediate relief measures, including a reduction in electricity tariffs, and described Jamaat-e-Islami as the advocate of people’s rights and a beacon of hope for the nation.
