Imran Khan, the Chairman of PTI, has submitted a bail request in the Islamabad High Court concerning the cipher case. This application, filed on his behalf by his attorney Barrister Salman Safdar, seeks his release on bail.
In the petition, Imran Khan contends that the prosecution has maliciously implicated him in a fabricated case. He points out that on September 14, the special court, acting under the Official Secrets Act, disregarded numerous irregularities and inconsistencies in the prosecution’s case when rejecting his previous bail application.
It’s worth noting that Imran Khan’s previous bail application in the Official Secrets Act special court was denied. The judgment, authored by Justice Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain, emphasized the sensitive nature of the case, highlighting that there exists compelling evidence linking both Imran Khan and Shah Mahmood Qureshi to the case. The judgment also noted that the accused individuals face serious charges under Sections 5 and 9 of the Official Secrets Act, which are non-bailable offenses.
