The Joe Biden administration has made an announcement regarding Israel’s inclusion in the US Visa Waiver Program (VWP), allowing Israeli citizens to enter the United States without the need for a visa, effective from November 30.
This decision by the US government followed a statement from Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which described it as a triumph for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s religious nationalist government, according to reports from international media.
Alejandro Meyerkas, the US Homeland Security Secretary, emphasized that this move will further enhance the security, economic, and interpersonal connections between the United States and Israel.
Furthermore, US officials noted that Palestinian-Americans residing in the West Bank and the United States will now have the ability to enter Israel visa-free and utilize Ben Gurion Airport for travel, streamlining the process and reducing barriers for these American citizens.
