Asif Ali Zardari, the Co-Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party, emphasized that the removal of Tehreek-e-Insaf from power was not driven by a quest for power, as they were not in government at the time.
During a press conference in Islamabad, he noted that he was among the first politicians to voice support for Palestine, expressing disappointment that Pakistan’s efforts for Palestine fell short of what was needed.
Zardari further explained that during their tenure, they had strengthened the role of the parliament and curtailed the president’s powers. Therefore, their actions were not a response to power struggles but were driven by their commitment to the betterment and economic development of the country. He criticized the PTI government, asserting that it had failed to achieve much during its term. The decision to remove PTI from power was grounded in their vision for the country’s progress.
Additionally, Zardari expressed a desire to communicate in Sindhi and deliver a message to both friends and adversaries. He encouraged everyone to pursue their own political agendas, emphasizing that the Pakistan People’s Party follows the political philosophy of Bhutto and Benazir. They welcome their opponents to participate in elections and engage in the democratic process.
