Under the leadership of Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Wahab Riaz has received approval to become the Chief Selector of the Pakistan Cricket Team. Reports suggest that even after taking on the role of chief selector, Riaz will continue to be a part of the caretaker cabinet.
Simultaneously, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is set to appoint a new team manager, along with changes in the captaincy and coaching staff. Former team manager Naveed Akram Cheema is slated to accompany the Pakistan team to Australia in place of Rehanul Haq.
During Najam Sethi’s tenure, when Mickey Arthur assumed the role of team director, Rehanul Haq served as the manager. Naveed Akram Cheema has previous experience as the team manager. Additionally, Muhammad Hafeez, the Director of Cricket, has initiated communication with domestic cricketers for potential roles within the coaching staff.
