Manzoor Pashteen, the leader of the Pashtun Protection Movement, has been placed in police custody for seven days following a hearing at the Anti-Terrorism Court in Islamabad.
The case against Pashteen, filed at Tarnool police station, led to this decision by the court. During the court session presided over by Special Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain, the police requested physical remand, which was granted despite opposition from Pashteen’s legal representatives.
They argued that Pashteen’s arrest occurred after an attack on his vehicle in Balochistan and his subsequent abduction, followed by presentation in court after three days. However, the court upheld the police request and granted a seven-day physical remand for Manzoor Pashteen.
