The Election Tribunal at the Lahore High Court Rawalpindi Bench dismissed Fawad Chaudhry’s appeals against the rejection of his nomination papers by the Returning Officer for NA 60 and 61 Jhelum constituencies.
Former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry faced a significant setback as the Tribunal upheld objections against him, citing concealment of his wife’s financial accounts and overseas travels, failure to provide necessary declarations, and hiding of assets, both movable and immovable. Consequently, Fawad Chaudhry is now ineligible for the upcoming elections, joining his wife Haba Chaudhry, who was previously disqualified. Advocate Faisal Chaudhry stated intentions to challenge this decision in a larger bench at the High Court.
