Imran Khan, the founder of PTI, has contested the rejection of his nomination papers for NA 122 and 89 in the Lahore High Court.
As reported by Express News, Imran Khan, through his lawyer Azhar Siddique Advocate, filed a petition claiming that the Returning Officer and the Appellate Tribunal inaccurately rejected his nomination papers.
He is seeking the court’s approval to allow him to participate in the election, and the application is scheduled for a hearing today.
Simultaneously, the registrar office initially objected to Imran Khan’s request, citing the absence of stamp papers and a certified copy of the appeal. However, the lawyers later provided the certified copy, addressing the objection. It is worth noting that the RO and the Election Tribunal had previously rejected Imran Khan’s nomination papers for NA 122 and NA 89.
