In Islamabad, Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, asserted that the party and its supporters remain peaceful, even in the face of a potential death penalty.
Addressing the media outside the Islamabad High Court, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan urged the nation to maintain patience and tolerance, assuring that if a death sentence is issued, the High Court will nullify it.
Emphasizing that the Sypher case proceedings are perceived to be outside the bounds of the constitution and law, Chairman PTI urged activists to exhibit patience, avoid provocation, and focus on upcoming elections. He encouraged trust in the judiciary, asserting that any imposed death penalty would be overturned, highlighting that Imran Khan remains composed.
In light of the recent sentencing of Imran Khan and Shah Mehmood Qureshi to 10 years each in the cipher case under the Official Secret Act, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan expressed the party’s commitment to challenging the decision through a petition in the Islamabad High Court. He announced plans for protests against the punishment, calling for preparation for the upcoming final election on February 8. Despite challenges, Chairman PTI expressed confidence that the support of the people, coupled with divine mercy, will prevent the erasure of Imran Khan’s legacy.
