Islamabad: The special court hearing the cipher case rejected Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s plea for physical remand and sent him to jail on 14-day judicial remand.
According to Express News, the special court established under the Official Secrets Act heard the cipher disappearance case in which Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi was brought before Judge Abul Hasanat Muhammad Zul-Qarnain.
Special prosecutor Shah Khawar and FIA lawyer Zulfiqar Abbas Naqvi, while Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s lawyers Shoaib Shaheen and Babar Awan appeared in the court. FIA Prosecutor Zulfiqar Naqvi requested further physical remand.

The court rejected Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s request for physical remand and sent him to jail on 14-day judicial remand.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi filed a bail application in the court after his arrest, on which the court issued notices to the parties for September 2 and called for arguments.
