The Islamabad High Court has scheduled a contempt of court case against IG Islamabad, Akbar Nasir Khan, in relation to the arrest of Dr. Shireen Mazari, for a hearing on September 28, despite previous court orders.
IG Islamabad, Akbar Nasir Khan, has tendered an unconditional apology in the Islamabad case. The decision regarding whether to accept IG Islamabad’s apology or proceed with the case will be made during the upcoming hearing, which is set to be presided over by Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb of the Islamabad High Court on September 28.
It’s important to note that the court had previously issued an order prohibiting the police from arresting Shireen Mazari, yet she was arrested in May in defiance of this court directive.
