A Pakistani delegation has arrived in Iran to engage in discussions regarding a gas pipeline project.

A delegation from Pakistan, led by the caretaker Energy Minister Muhammad Ali, has arrived in Tehran for discussions regarding the Pak-Iran gas pipeline project.

Alongside Muhammad Ali, Nadeem Bajwa, the MD of Interstate Gas Systems, is part of the Pakistani delegation. The purpose of their visit is to engage in talks with Iranian counterparts, focusing on the gas pipeline project.

Discussions will revolve around potential extensions for the construction deadline of Pakistan’s segment of the pipeline. Meeting this deadline is crucial for Pakistan to avoid penalties, as they are expected to complete their part of the pipeline to the Iranian border by March 2024.
