The Islamabad High Court has concluded hearings on the petition regarding the sealing of PTI’s central secretariat during a CDA operation.
During the court proceedings, PTI’s legal representatives, including Shoaib Shaheen and Umeer Baloch, along with Hafiz Arafat from the CDA and State Counselor Malik Abdul Rehman from the district administration, were present.
Shoaib Shaheen contended that while CDA had issued notices in the past, the current notice was not properly documented, suggesting potential fraudulent activity. He argued that the notices were addressed to someone other than PTI, and accused CDA of misleading the media regarding the ownership of the land.
The CDA’s legal counsel countered by stating that they believed the property had been purchased as a commercial plot but had been converted for PTI’s use, leading to concerns about its impact on the surrounding area. The court questioned why notices were not issued to both the owner and the tenant in such cases to expedite resolution.
Following the arguments, Islamabad High Court Justice Thaman Rifat Imtiaz reserved the decision for a later date.
