Actions by which parents can protect their children from diabetes

An important study has revealed a simple and easy step that parents can take to prevent their children from developing diabetes later in life.
According to a recent study published in the journal Science, children whose parents keep their children away from sugar for the first two years of life have significantly lower rates of diabetes and high blood pressure throughout their lives.

According to the study results, this effect remains strong even if children start consuming more sugar after the age of two, and the risk of diabetes remains low.

About 85 percent of children eat added sugars daily, despite public health recommendations. For infants, there are high-sugar sweetened yogurts and baby food cereals, while for toddlers, there are coffees, pastries and drinks with added sugar.
