Karachi: Actor and television host Saud has disclosed that he shares familial ties with Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Australian cricketer Usman Khawaja.
During a recent podcast interview, Saud unveiled that his cousin, residing in India, is married to Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s sister. Furthermore, Saud revealed that he is related to Australian cricketer Usman Khawaja, and they both enjoyed playing cricket together during their childhood.
Regarding his marriage to actress Jawaria, Saud clarified that it was an arranged marriage rather than a love affair. He explained that his elder sister developed an interest in Jawaria, and they sent emissaries to Jawaria’s house on four separate occasions to discuss the proposal. Among the notable individuals involved in these discussions were the late Amjad Sabri, actor Rainbow, actor Shaan, and Brigadier (Retired) Haris Nawaz.
Saud emphasized the religious background of his entire family. He shared that his father, Maulana Qari Zahir Qasmi, had recited the Holy Quran on the radio on August 14, 1947, before the establishment of Pakistan. His father was renowned for his recitation skills. Additionally, Saud mentioned that his uncle, Chacha Qari Shakir Qasmi, achieved global recognition for his recitation abilities, and his younger uncle, Qari Waheed Zafar Qasmi, is also a well-known reciter.
Saud concluded by noting that, rather than reciting naats, his family members continue to offer prayers for his well-being, seeking blessings from God.
