The Asian Development Bank (ADB) greenlit three projects totaling $65.88 million for Pakistan. Among these, $30 million is allocated for the Enhanced Resource Mobilization and Utilization Reforms Program, while an additional $27.5 million is earmarked for the Sindh Secondary Education Improvement Project in Sindh province.
Moreover, a concessional loan of $80 million has been sanctioned for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Security Support Project. The ADB’s statement highlights the projects’ aims to attain Sustainable Growth and Development Goals, focusing on bolstering local resource mobilization, refurbishing flood-affected schools, and boosting crop production to enhance food security.
This financing is geared towards aiding Pakistan’s recovery from the previous year’s floods and setting the country on a trajectory toward sustained long-term growth.
