America’s decision to construct a port in proximity to Gaza.

Washington: The United States has made plans to construct a port near the conflict-ridden Gaza region. President Joe Biden stated that the purpose of establishing this temporary port is to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza.

According to reports from international media sources, it’s anticipated that President Joe Biden will announce the creation of this port during his upcoming State of the Union address.

US officials indicate that President Biden will use his speech to Congress to unveil the establishment of a US Navy port in close proximity to Gaza, with the aim of significantly boosting the distribution of emergency supplies such as food, medicine, and other vital items.

The report highlights ongoing collaborative efforts between the United States and its allies in the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea, with the addition of humanitarian organizations in these new operations.

Officials from the United States have clarified that the port’s establishment will be temporary and will enable the simultaneous movement of hundreds of trucks.

Previously, US officials had accused Hamas of impeding and prolonging efforts for a ceasefire in Gaza. In response to these accusations, a Hamas representative dismissed the claims as falsehoods, instead attributing the delay in ceasefire negotiations to Israel’s absence from talks in Cairo.

The Hamas official further suggested that rather than airdropping food into Gaza, it would be more beneficial if the US ceased supplying weapons to Israel.
