In Lahore, Imran Khan, the PTI founder representing NA 122, has lodged an appeal contesting the Returning Officer’s decision.
He argues that the rejection of his nomination papers was based on false grounds. He urges the tribunal to overturn the officer’s decision and validate his nomination.
In addition to Khan, several other candidates, including former Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi, have also appealed against the rejection of their candidacy documents. Today marks the final day for filing appeals against document rejections, with candidates allowed to submit appeals until 4 pm.
The Election Tribunal judges will review these appeals and render decisions by January 10. Currently, the tribunal judges are actively reviewing appeals, and some decisions have already been made today.
