Army Chief’s meeting with Secretary General of the United Nations, emphasis on two-state solution of Palestinian issue


Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir met United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres during his trip to the United States, as per Pakistan Army Public Relations (ISPR). Guterres welcomed the visit, praising Pakistan’s army and law enforcement agencies for their role in global peace.

During their discussion, General Munir affirmed Pakistan’s commitment to supporting the United Nations’ initiatives. He addressed the Kashmir and Gaza situations, emphasizing that peace in South Asia hinges on resolving the longstanding Kashmir conflict in line with UN Security Council resolutions and the desires of the Kashmiri people.

The Army Chief strongly denounced India’s unilateral and illegal actions in altering the status of Jammu and Kashmir, calling it a violation of UN resolutions.

Regarding the Palestine issue, General Munir urged the UN Secretary General to rally the international community for an immediate halt to the Israeli attacks on Gaza, advocating for a two-state solution as the sustainable resolution.

Expressing concern for innocent Palestinians facing brutality and inadequate humanitarian aid from the Israeli army, General Munir stressed the urgent need to address their plight.
