Asia Cup ; Babar Azam achieved a century in the game against Nepal.


In the opening game of the Asia Cup, Pakistan set a target of 230 runs while losing 4 wickets in 42 overs against Nepal in Multan.

During the match held in Multan, opener Fakhar Zaman once again struggled to make an impact, departing after scoring just 14 runs. Similarly, Imam-ul-Haq managed only 5 runs, while Muhammad Rizwan was run out after contributing 44 runs. Agha Salman also made a brief appearance with 5 runs. At present, Captain Babar Azam stands strong at the crease with 103 runs, accompanied by Iftikhar Ahmed with 52 runs.

Nepal’s bowlers, Karan KC and Sandeep Lamichhane, each claimed a wicket. Opting to bat first after winning the toss in the tournament’s opening match, Pakistani team’s captain Babar Azam made the decision.

Commenting on the event, Nepalese team’s captain Rohit Podel expressed that if they had won the toss, they would have chosen to bat as well. However, they aim to create early pressure on the Pakistani team and secure quick wickets.

Pakistan’s squad includes Captain Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq, Muhammad Rizwan, Agha Salman, Iftikhar Ahmed, Shadab Khan, Muhammad Nawaz, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Haris Rauf.

On the other hand, Nepal’s squad comprises Captain Rohit Podel, Kushal Bhartil, Asif Sheikh, Arif Sheikh, Kushal Malla, Deepinder Singh Iri, Gulshan Jha, Sompal Kami, Kiran KC, Sandeep Lamichhane, and Lalit Raj Banshi.
