The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has started to pave the way for the hybrid model of the Asia Cup. According to media reports, after Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Nepal cricket boards have also assured to play in Pakistan through email.
Reports claim that apart from India participating in the Asia Cup, other boards have assured to support Pakistan. The boards have no objection to the hybrid model proposed by the Pakistan Cricket Board, but the cricketers are not ready to play due to the high heat in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Sources say that India’s objection to the hybrid model is now irrelevant and PCB’s hybrid model does not include India playing in Pakistan.
On the other hand, the internal meeting of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) regarding the Asia Cup is likely to be held in the next couple of days, in which Secretary BCCI J Shah. Also participate. It should be noted that the Pakistan Cricket Board wants to sell tickets and gate money for the Asia Cup in UAE and in the past Asia Cup and IPL have been held in September, on which PCB will present its stand.
