
Pakistan Hockey Federation has applied for NOC from the federal government to participate in the Asian Hockey Championship to be held in India.
After getting the green signal from the federal government, the national hockey team will go to India to try their luck.
It has been learned from informed sources that last day, General Secretary of Pakistan Hockey Federation Haider Hussain informed about NOC during a meeting with Director General of Pakistan Sports Board, Shoaib Khosa.
It should be noted that the training camp of the shortlisted players for the national hockey team to participate in the Asian Champions Trophy is going on at the National Hockey Stadium Lahore.
Meanwhile, the Asian Hockey Federation has announced the schedule of the Champions Trophy from August 3 to 12 in Chennai, India. All the teams in the event have been drawn in the same pool, which includes India, Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, Japan and China.
According to the schedule, Pakistan will play its first match on August 3 against Malaysia, and the second match on August 4 Korea on August, the third match on August 6 against Japan, the fourth match against China on August 7, and the fifth match against traditional rivals India on August 9. The final of the Asian Champions Trophy will be played on August 12.
