Asif Ali Zardari, co-chairman of the People’s Party, asserted during a public gathering on Benazir Bhutto’s death anniversary in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh that safeguarding people’s rights remains a priority.
He highlighted Pakistan’s abundant resources and pledged to alleviate the country’s debts once the reference hearings commence.
Zardari emphasized that Pakistan isn’t impoverished, but the real challenge lies within Islamabad, not in Karachi, Quetta, Peshawar, or Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He critiqued the mindset of those in power in the capital city, urging attention to the struggles of the common people rather than focusing solely on election promises.
He expressed his willingness to serve the nation, noting a willingness to rest in the Garhi Khuda Bakhsh Bhutto Graveyard if he fulfills his duties. Zardari stressed their commitment to Pakistan’s development, citing efforts in Larkana for prosperity, infrastructure projects like dams, and advancements in mining.
The restoration of the 1973 constitution was highlighted as a significant accomplishment, asserting that only politicians have the capability to resolve public issues. Zardari assured that all the pledges made by Bilawal to the people will be honored collectively, urging patience and understanding from the public.
