For the film about the famous musician, Austin Butler has finally decided to get rid of his Elvis accent.
“One song took 40 takes,” she continued, “I am getting rid of the accent, but I have probably damaged my vocal cords with all that singing.”
In the biopic directed by Baz Luhrmann, Butler’s portrayal of Elvis Presley received critical acclaim.
The Oscar candidate previously stated that he practiced tackling the famous musician’s voice.
He described his method as “I’d hear him say a certain word, and I would clip just that bit out, so I knew how he said that word.” I made my own archive of how he said each word, every diphthong, and how he used his voice to sound musical.”
Elvis, starring Austin Butler, was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture and won Best Actor at the Golden Globes in 2023.
