In the context of the Model Town tragedy in Lahore, there has been a significant development. The court has taken action against certain police officers and officials who were absent during the hearing.
The judge at the Anti-Terrorism Court expressed that ample time has been given, and further leniency cannot be afforded to the absent individuals who are out on bail.
Notably, a number of accused police officers and officials, including DSP Rizwan, Bashir Niazi, and Kashif Khalil, were present in court as required. In compliance with the court’s directive, DIG Operations Ali Nasir Rizvi also made an appearance.
Subsequently, the court revoked the bail bonds for those who were absent and postponed the proceedings until August 18. The court has called upon the lawyers to present their arguments during the next hearing.
