In Islamabad, an anti-terrorism court has granted bail to former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi in the case related to the judicial complex attack.
Judge Abulhasnat Zulqarnain has approved his bail with a surety bond of 20,000 and ordered his immediate release.
The court noted that nothing incriminating was found during Chaudhry Parvez Elahi’s remand, and further investigation into the accused will not proceed. In response, Chaudhry Parvez Elahi plans to file a petition in the Islamabad High Court today to preempt any potential future arrests. His lawyer, Sardar Abdul Raziq, will be submitting the application.
According to Sardar Abdul Raziq, who is submitting the application to prevent any potential re-arrest after his release, he will soon file the petition on behalf of Parvez Elahi in the High Court.
