
In Balochistan, winter has intensified across several cities, bringing snowfall and causing flooding in low-lying areas due to continuous rain overnight.
Express News reported ongoing snowfall in various districts of North Balochistan like Kan Mehtarzai Khanuzai, Ziarat, and Qalat. Additionally, Quetta experienced flooding in lower regions following the rainfall. The colder weather persisted with rain in Dikki and snow in Kalat, including Sanjawi Chotir. Sahabpur Sui also witnessed a temperature drop after the rainfall.
Snow blanketed Ziarat Valley and Garnawah, covering mountains and buildings with layers of white. Ziarat city received 6 inches of snow, while the mountains accumulated up to 8 inches. The snowfall commenced late at night and continued into the early morning, creating a picturesque natural landscape in Ziarat.
The meteorological department reported an increased cold intensity due to the snowfall, recording a minimum temperature of minus 2 degrees today.
Meanwhile, the first winter rain fell in Dera Murad Jamali and its surroundings, while Nasirabad’s rain amplified the cold weather. The onset of rain caused power and gas outages, causing inconvenience for the residents. Quetta also experienced power cuts in various parts of the city following the late-night rain. Manjhipur city and its neighboring areas also experienced a significant temperature drop after the rainfall.
