PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan emphasized that during the PTI’s tenure, the government never encountered the current issues with the Afghan government.
Following a meeting with PTI’s founder, Imran Khan, he addressed political matters, highlighting reservations regarding Afghanistan. Such challenges, he asserted, stem from inadequate foreign policy decisions.
Gohar Ali announced the nomination of Sher Afzal Marwat as the candidate for Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee in the National Assembly. He expressed intention to request opposition representation, given PTI’s majority status in the Council. Regarding overseas Pakistani protests against the IMF in America, he clarified that PTI didn’t orchestrate or sponsor any demonstrations but rather conveyed concerns via written correspondence.
He stressed PTI’s unified stance on specific seats, citing Article 51 which regulates seat allocation proportional to electoral victories. Gohar Ali criticized the redistribution of seats to other parties, surpassing the initially won 17 seats by 27. He expressed hope for the Supreme Court to arbitrate a resolution, emphasizing that without PTI representation, the assembly would lack completeness.
Sher Afzal Marwat, in an earlier statement, discussed ongoing proceedings in the Al-Qadir Trust case involving Imran Khan. He highlighted the altruistic activities of the trust, emphasizing his non-involvement as a trustee. Additionally, he referenced the return of Hasan and Hussain Nawaz to Pakistan after seven years, noting Supreme Court decisions and JIT reports against them, despite prolonged legal proceedings without conclusive evidence.
